Anouska’S 2 Day Intensive Hair Master Class Incorporating Makeup & Shoot

I recently trained at Claire Hanson's M.A.C.H class. Two days intensive one to one training has changed me from a make-up artist with a few hair skills to a make-up artist with confidence, sound knowledge, flair and speed in Hair Artistry.  All the qualities that are essential to become successful in this field.
My trainer Melanie Meik was fantastic, patient and really encouraged me to create hair styles I would have never had the confidence to create before. On the second day I created a 40's, Bridal and Fashion hair and make-up, the photographer; Glen Mitchell was excellent, and the photo's are portfolio standard!
I highly recommend this course, Claire and her team are wonderful, I learnt more in two days then I did in two years at University.

Holly’S 2 Day Basic Makeup & Hair Master Class

I found my two day master class with Claire very helpful and enjoyable. There was a really relaxed atmosphere and Claire made me feel really comfortable. I learnt new techniques which really helped me to improve my hair skills. As all master classes with M.A.C.H are one to one I could work at my own pace and didn't have to go through hair styles which I could already do. The techniques I learnt meant I could easily change one style into another which I now know exactly what Claire means when she says ‘is key to any working Makeup & Hair artist’ photographers love it!
 I would definitely recommend this course to anyone as Claire adapts the class to suit your needs and ability.

Maritza Haydon – 4 Day Make Up & Hair Master Class

I did my Four day Master class with Claire Hanson back in January 2011 as I had wanted to become a Make up and Hair artist for a while. I already had some previous experience of the Make up industry but it was important for me to do the course in order to brush up on my skills and instil some confidence within myself before I became fully freelance.
I already knew exactly what kind of course that I wanted to do and what I wanted to get out of it.  I had been looking for a while for a private tuition courses in Make up but I realized over time that not many people or many make up schools offered them. I felt that one to one tuition (as opposed to a school with a large class of students) would also be the most effective way of learning.
The course that I did with Claire Hanson fulfilled my expectations and beyond. It was not only one to one tuition but also exactly what I was looking for. Claire was confident in her teachings and concise with her knowledge. I found that each day was informative, factual and structured according to how fast I learnt. Nothing escaped Claire about the way that I responded and I could, at any point, stop the lesson and go back over anything had I not understood it. The days were simply about one thing- make up, make up and more make up, with questions and answers until I had no more questions to ask. A complete dream come true, for anyone into make up, let alone someone wanting to learn all the keys skills and – at times- some well kept secrets of a top make up artist!  
Claire Hanson was overall an extremely patient and understanding teacher; I can honestly say that I feel extremely lucky to have been taught by her. She has a natural talent for what she does, and above all is truly passionate about passing on her skills to the highest level.
I have now achieved my dream and I’m working as a freelance Make up and Hair artist in the Northwest.

I learnt so much within the 4 days of my Master Class with Claire. She was very patient, helpful and made sure I understood everything before we moved on to the next subject. I have recently completed the four day Master Class with Claire Hanson, in those four days I have learnt a lot of new techniques for hair and makeup covering everything you need to know to become a makeup artist.
On day one of the Master Class we covered skin preparation, how to create a flawless base, contouring and highlighting followed by how to section and blow dry hair ready for creating various styles. Throughout the four days we covered different ways of doing eyeliner to create different looks, Smokey eyes, symmetry and more.. We also covered different hair types and how to deal with them and a lot of different hair styles.
On day 3 it was my portfolio day, time to put all the skills I had learnt into practice. This consisted of 5 different looks on a model one after the other using different areas of Claire's beautiful home and garden. With the help of great photographers and the rest of the team I created a portfolio to be proud of and had a really fun and exciting day.
Claire has helped me above and beyond my expectations with her knowledge and skills she has gained within the makeup industry she has also helped me to gain the confidence I needed to now pursue my dream and ambitions. I couldn’t have asked for a better tutor and for that opportunity I will always be great full.
